New Era Detroit held its second annual Back-to-School Uniform Giveaway yesterday on Schoolcraft Road in Detroit. @neweradetroit The organization distributed 700+ uniforms, along with backpacks and other essential school supplies for the upcoming school year. With children experiencing growth spurts and the everyday wear and tear of school clothing, many parents say uniforms are among their biggest back-to-school expenses. The giveaway aimed to ease that financial burden while ensuring students have the clothing and supplies needed to begin the school year prepared. Support from vendors, donors, neighbors and friends helped make the event possible and build excitement among students for the upcoming school year. New Era Detroit is part of the New Era Community Connection, which works to connect and revitalize urban communities globally through direct outreach and interactive community programming.
